Weald Place Farm Bees is born from my obsession. After the loss of my printing company in the recession in 2010, I decided to go back to farming and to specialise in the animal that I had been obsessed with since a young boy, the “Honey Bee”.

Our aim is to be one of the premier suppliers of quality Honey Bees for beekeepers in the South East of England. Our stocks are Italian, Buckfast, British Black and Carnolian strains. All strains have their pros and cons, but we believe that putting all your eggs in one basket has a serious down side; all of our breeding stock has been deliberately selected to over winter well, with strong resistance to Varroa. 

The main core of our business is producing bees, but honey production is also very important to us. In 2012 we are aiming to put down on the farm several acres of herb meadow and, along with our hives out on organic farms in Essex, we also hope to have several hives in urban areas, totalling around 300 hives.

We also have teamed up with a number of UK manufacturers and supplyers selling Polystyrene and tradional wooden hives, to offer a wide range of very good quality equipment and supplies to the keen beekeeper. So please come and visit the shop on line or at the farm.
